Discover alternative attractions while on a gap year in Australia

While taking a gap year trip to Australia, people could have a more fulfilling adventure by stepping out of the norm.

Cheapflights.co.uk acknowledged that there are many alternative landmarks to visit in particular for those exploring the country's popular city of Sydney.

The organisation pointed out that the resort is known for its eye-catching harbour area and waterfronts, but this should include more than just visiting the tourist hotspot Darling Harbour.

Instead, a trip to the Sydney Fish Market allows gap year participants to sample some unique oyster savouries and Australian wine.

While taking time out from voluntary work, Cheapflights.co.uk also advises signing up for a course at the Seafood School, as it is one of the leading cook schools across the whole of Australia.

Recently, Tom Hall, travel editor at Lonely Planet, wrote in the Guardian that "Australia remains the prime destination of many gappers, with its winning combination of cities, surf, scenery and fantastic facilities for budget travellers".
