A time-lapse video of a round-the-world gap year has become a surprise internet hit.
'Speeding Around The World In Under Five Minutes' documents the travels of San Francisco photographer Kien Lam, who visited 17 countries during 2010 and 2011.
During this career break he took more than 6,000 photos in a variety of locations, which he then used to create a video upon his arrival home.
According to the Telegraph it has received an incredible 200,000 views on YouTube since being posted a week ago - demonstrating the high level of interest in gap year adventure.
"After I quit my job last year, I packed a bag, grabbed my camera and bought a one way ticket to London," Kien stated.
"Seventeen countries later, I compiled this time lapse of the many amazing places I came across."
Famous sites from around the world including Stonehenge, the Eiffel Tower and Machu Picchu are included in the film, which is accompanied by a musical score composed by Kien's brother.
