Are You The Difference A Competition Sponsored by Year Out Group member GVI

Whether you are a familiar face at your local community centre, spend your valuable spare time providing a vital presence on projects outside of your town or city, or are a seasonal volunteer overseas: Are You The Difference? wants to hear from you!

To win the prize of a lifetime, all you have to do is create a short video using the following rules. Each video must highlight how you as an individual make a difference to others - this could be domestically or internationally. The video should capture the imagination of others, and show the fun element of volunteering.

Each Video Must:

  • Be no longer than 90 seconds long.
  • Clearly demonstrate how you make a difference
  • Be imaginative
  • Inspire others to consider the ways in which they can make a difference
  • Be uploaded onto YouTube with the title "I'm The Difference (GVI) - (Name)

Once you have uploaded the video, email thedifference@gviworld.com with your:

  • Full Name
  • Age
  • Country of Residence
  • The link to your YouTube video
  • 100 words why you want to travel to see other volunteer programmes.GVI volunteers take in the scenery

The Process

 

  • Stage 1: You may enter videos to the campaign until 31st May 2010.
  • Stage 2: The Top 50 videos will be given to the panel of judges to choose their Top 20.
  • Stage 3: From June 15th 2010, the Top 20 videos will be placed on GVI sites to be voted on by the general public.
  • Stage 4: Voting ends on 31st July 2010 and the video with the most votes will be named winner of Are You The Difference?

The Prize

 

The winning entrant will be given the opportunity to attend a year-long multi-placement excursion around the world, travelling and participating in a combination of volunteer programs with GVI. The winner will be able to choose which GVI expeditions and projects they would like to become involved with whilst travelling across the continents.
