Every year a significant number of students that apply for university fail to secure a place and find themselves facing a gap year by default, an enforced gap year. Clearly this will be disappointing to these concerned but the situation should be seen an opportunity and both students and parents should do all they can to make the best of the situation. Those that do so invariably have a most rewarding experience and look forward to the future with renewed confidence. In this article Paul Rompani, CEO of Year Out Group founder member Lattitude Global Volunteering, explains one way that this can be achieved.
